Crossing the Pacific with faith and overcoming numerous challenges, Dr. Ailing from Sam Yuk College in Hong Kong led a group of 17 students, seminaries, teachers, pastors, and church members to Papua New Guinea 🇬🇳 for a week-long short-term missionary evangelism from February 11 to 24, 2026!
Having overcome the challenges of obtaining overseas visas, the initial group of 24 participants had only received visa approvals three days before departure. Relying on their faith, only 14 successfully embarked on their journey at the airport.
Upon arrival, we visited a hydroelectric power plant built by the Chinese. The history of this project is deeply connected to the local Adventist believers. The virtuous character and testimony of a local village chief led to the construction of this project, which today provides 40% of the nation's electricity.
Our group of classmates shared our faith and testimonies in the local area, conducting children's evangelistic activities in four different villages and churches. Through hymns, crafts, and games, we brought love and care into the lives of local children. We shared health information and evangelistic messages with the local villagers. We also provided various services in the community, such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and massages, embodying the service of Jesus Christ.
Although this short mission trip had many shortcomings, it was filled with God's grace. Thank you to all the brothers and sisters for their prayers, offerings, and support!
The 7-day service trip involved sharing love with 500 to 600 children each day, as well as visiting villagers' homes and providing health check-up services.
