Common mission
With enthusiasm, the brothers and sisters of Tai Wo Church hope that the church can work together to complete the great event of sharing good news and spreading this news widely. So, we decided to spend more than half a year preparing for "Oh! Starry night in Bethlehem! What a Special Starry Starry Night!" Musical Drama.
Actions of love
The church is like a family. I would like to thank Yuen Long Sam Yuk Kindergarten for taking the lead in completing the musical in English in 2024. The church member teacher had an idea. Since there are already prepared materials, why not also present them in the church? After communication and discussion, we boldly tried to train a group of children from the church to bear this banner at Christmas 2025. Due to various social factors and the impact of the pandemic, the church's external evangelistic work seems to have shrunk. Everyone does not want to see this situation continue to erode the growth and development of the new generation of the church. In addition to the good news of the church's thanksgiving worship, we also contacted large shopping malls to present our results. Because of their love for the Lord and concern for their brothers and sisters, everyone is also very concerned about the needs of the elderly. Therefore, at the beginning, they planned three caroling, which were presented in Chinese and English dialogue at the Thanksgiving worship of Tai Wo Church, Heng On Elderly Center and Tai Wai Elements Shopping Mall.
Create a platform for growth
When the training was nearing completion, some parents felt that since kids and adults had put so much effort, it was better to provide another platform for growth, so they finally decided to contact Tuen Mun Church to increase the opportunity for more dedication. The entire Christmas musical has a total of 18 characters, most of which are starring children, while the rest of the roles are assigned to students of Tai Po Sam Yuk Secondary School and church members of Tai Wo Church. During the period, a sister who is proficient in sign language joined to lead the students of the first letter to learn the sign language interpretation of the poem "My Lord is Wonderful", so that the young mind can express more flexibly.
Team effort
In this plan, in addition to the strong support of the pastors of the church, the co-ordinating sisters also spent a lot of time on communication and contact. This tedious process is worthy of respect. The sisters of costumes and props have also worked hard, from ordering to fitting, they have all undergone careful preparations. Behind this, the silent prayer of the prayer ministry is also the strength that supports all participants. The publicity team has also carried out careful deployment and design in the entire operation to ensure that the process of reporting good news is extremely smooth.
Confidence challenge
During the practice process, although we encountered many problems, such as gathering everyone for practice, the illness of important characters, cooperation with other activities of the church, etc., but because of the support of confidence, everyone finally worked together and the mobilization was successfully completed. In addition, it reminds me of the story of Pool of Bethesda in Chapter 5 of the Gospel of John. The patient who had been lying by the pool for 38 years had been waiting for the moving of the water. This story makes us think deeply: in life, will we be like that patient, unable to take the initiative because of the influence of the environment? Are we also quietly waiting for the opportunity to come, to be healed and released by Jesus?
Pass on hope
At this special moment of Christmas, when we sing poems and dance, it is like a pool of water turning, bringing hope to those who are eager for healing. The church is like this pool of water. Although it is not easy to stir, the concept of "all people are soldiers" is not easy. However, because of the mutual love between brothers and sisters, we can integrate and sow good seeds together. This power comes from Jesus.
I WILL GO to preach to the society
As the musical is presented in different venues, this is not a performance, but a mission to convey the love and hope of Jesus to the society. Whenever we see the smiling faces and moving eyes of the audience, it reminds us that the mission of the church is to be the light and salt in people's lives. These performances have made us deeply realize the importance of promoting connections. Whether in difficult times or in the process of working for the Lord, we all need to support and encourage each other.
Future prospects
During this journey of preparation, we have not only improved technically, but also grown spiritually. I hope that there will be more such opportunities in the future, so that we can work hand in hand in the Lord to pass on this beautiful gospel to more people. As Jesus said: "The waiting time is over, now is the time to act! "(Mark 1:15) May we spread Jesus' love and hope to every corner during this Christmas season, whether in singing or in action.
