Social Services:
As early as the 1950s and 1960s, SDA church had food and clothing relief work, and then built two dormitories for the elderly and a rural community center. With the changes of the times, the demand for social services from the community has continued to increase. Therefore, in the early 1980s, SDA church once again expanded its social services. With government funding, a youth centre was opened in Tuen Mun in 1985 and the first elderly centre was opened in Ma On Shan, Sha Tin in 1988. At the same time, in order to develop social services systematically and in an orderly manner, SDA church officially established the Social Services Department in 1990. In October 1993, a second elderly center was opened in Siu Sai Wan, Chai Wan, and a reading center was opened in Pak Tin Estate in September 1994 to provide students with a venue for self-study and reading. After the period, a third elderly center was opened in San Po Kong in March 1998. In line with the service reorganization plan carried out by the Social Service Department in 2003, the Mountain View Youth Centre was transformed into an integrated youth centre, while Siu Sai Wan Elderly Centre and San Po Kong Elderly Centre were transformed into neighborhood elderly centres, and Heng On Elderly Centre was converted into a self-financing elderly centre.
